The clinic was also the first to undertake robotic surgery in 2005
The London Clinic was the first private hospital in the UK to trial and offer robotic surgery to patients with prostate cancer using the da Vinci Surgical System in 2005.
And last year it added a second robot - the NAVIO - for precision knee surgery.
"The London Clinic’s leadership team is committed to supporting our consultants and working with them in partnership to ensure we remain at the frontline of robotics,” says Al Russell, chief executive of The London Clinic.
“Our hospital was the first private hospital in the UK to offer robotic surgery to patients in 2005 and now many other hospitals have followed this example.
“This new centre is an important part of our strategic plan and a good example of The London Clinic’s charitable purpose of advancing healthcare and sharing expertise.”.
